William is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is originally from Detroit, Michigan. William relocated to the Huntsville area in 2012 and has made Huntsville home. As a therapist, William’s experience in the helping profession with a diverse population has helped him develop an open-minded and effectively impactful approach to counseling that is focused on helping individuals acquire the goals they seek. William has worked in several areas of the helping profession from being a Field Medical Specialist in the U.S. Army to a sitting board member at Mariner’s Inn, a large addiction treatment facility for men operated by the Episcopal Church. As a counselor, William strives to help by working with people to resolve issues with addiction, grief and loss, PTSD, anxiety and relationships that adversely impact their day-to-day life by working collegially and determining what theory or methodology best fulfill their needs and helping the person implement that strategy or tool effectively. William’s therapeutic approach includes motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, rational behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy and moral reconation therapy. William welcomes individuals, couples and families with adolescent or adult children. William believes change is inevitable and to embrace the changes life presents, personal growth is required so the positive aspects of life’s changes are realized. “It, on occasion, is as simple as seeing the cup as half full and embracing the opportunity presented”.
